24 Mar ŠTAMBUK 2019 HVAR
TRANSLATED FROM AN ARTICLE ORIGINALLY ISSUED ONLY IN CROATIAN
This summer was the first time that the extended Štambuk family met up on the Croatian island of Hvar, in Vrboska. They arrived by boat from Sumartin and Bol, from the neighbouring island of Brač. Thanks to Stanislav Štambuk, an engineer by profession, the transport of the Brač ‘delegation’ was arranged, as was their lunch and their sightseeing in beautiful Hvar town. The last item on the day’s agenda was the presentation of a book on Štambuk genealogy, written by Dario Štambuk, in the courtyard of the church of St. Mark. The Brač delegation comprised fifteen brothers and that of Hvar’s, around twenty other Štambuk family members. The meeting and socializing between distant relatives was an emotional affair. The conclusions were so positive that a reunion in Hvar was arranged for next year.
The presentation of the book and the gathering in the courtyard of the church of St. Mark in the town of Hvar on the 13th of August 2019.
